The weather in North Devon has been lovely and we were back at Millbrook to cater for a wedding recently.
Sarah wanted an afternoon tea, but decided that the children should have a sweety and cookie table. We love making cookies so made sure the children had plenty to eat.
The grown-ups were having our usual afternoon tea and Sarah supplied us with all the trimmings to make Pimms.
It was a truly lovely day for them both and all their guests.
Mandy and Angus’ Wedding took place at Millbrook Estate. It was a lovely afternoon ideal for an Afternoon Tea. They held their ceremony in the Summerhouse and along with their guests walked through the Woodland Walk to reach the Retreat where we were waiting to serve teas and coffee.
Mandy hired our Kilner Dispenser for Lemonade and had three lovely floral rose displays created, flowers for the Mums and her bouquet all to match the lovely dresses her bridesmaids were wearing in a blush colour. She also brought along some lovely little tags for guests to write messages to them both which were then hung on the heart on the side wall.
Below are some photos of their special day.
Thank you for Mandy and Angus for asking us to help make their day even more special.
As I started to climb the steps at Millbrook black clouds loomed above my head, a few drops fell and I waited for the heavens to open; they didn’t!
However, they hung a round for the rest of the afternoon as only black clouds do in North Devon’s microclimate. We were catering for 7 as an afternoon tea and had to set up in the Summer House due to the weather. In fact I am glad we did as at 3.30pm the cloud’s opened and down it came!
I only have the one photo to show you today as the bride chose to save her cake and take it down to the Retreat, play some games and dodge the rain!
Afternoon Tea at Millbrook
We hope they had a really lovely day despite the weather, and look forward to seeing them at our cafe Maybray’s in Barnstaple.
