Over the years we have been catering we have produced many different types of traditional cakes, however our most popular has been a three tiered fruit and fresh cream cake
Traditionally these were called courting cakes, the story goes that it is more a victoria sandwich on the top and and a shortbread on the bottom. There are many variations, but traditionally they are filled with slightly over-ripe strawberries or raspberries and fresh whipped cream
We produce them for weddings of 6 or less when a traditional cake isn’t always required or our clients don’t want a cake full of buttercream.
These cakes are delightful and the above image is our version, three layers, the one below is three layers again with a mix of raspberries and strawberries used as a wedding cake. If you would like two layers one with shortcake the other sponge please let us know. We need about 2 weeks notice.
